Bible Alive embodies the combined experience of  a group of  children’s workers and primary school teachers  who realised there was a need to make the Bible story more exciting for primary school children.  In today’s pressurised teaching environment teachers all too often struggle to prepare and resource material to teach the RME curriculum. What if exciting and informative resources could be given to teachers?  Further, what if those resources could employ rhyme and actions to aid the learning of the basic story?  What if interactive drama, music and multimedia presentations could be employed to let the  children take part in the Bible story themselves?  And what if all this could be done by a trained ‘Activator’ to free the teacher from the up-front work?
The result is Bible Alive!........

Bible Alive is a modularised programme which can be as short as five one-hour sessions or as many sessions as you like presented at weekly intervals.  It uses the unique ‘Rhyme’n’Sign’ method based on British Sign Language (BSL) signing and catchy music to help the children memorise the key elements of the Bible story.  So not only does Bible Alive meet the Religious & Moral Education (RME) curriculum requirements but it also introduces the children to features such as communication and inclusion.  Further, in encouraging the children to act out the Bible and, for example, letting them make decisions that only the ‘wisdom of Solomon’ could resolve, it helps them engage in the moral questions of our present time.

Each child is presented with a 28 page Bible Alive Activity Book  which contains games, quizzes and the main features of the Bible story-line. It is theirs to keep and can be part of their portfolio of achievements.

Bible Alive can only be presented by volunteer ‘Activators’ who have undergone an intensive three day training programme and are resourced with Bible Alive materials.

All Bible Alive programmes are offered free to schools though contributions towards the cost of the Activity Books and the expenses of the ‘Activators’ would be appreciated.
