As well as helping the disabled and disadvantaged children in the local community the Kitega Community Centre has become a training and conference centre for a much wider community. Not only that, but the centre has provided the vision, motivation and resources for many in the community to engage in successful self-development projects. For this work to continue the centre needs to:-

build its own kitchen as at present all cooking is done outside. This would also be a means of income as the cooked food would be sold in the local community.

Build an accommodation block for those children living at a distance and so save on transport costs.
|
|
|
Build suitable accommodation for the many international volunteers the centre receives each year

The centre and the land on which it is hoped to build a kitchen and accommodation block.
Work has already started on the new kitchen building and it is hoped that sufficient funds can be obtained to start the combined children’s and volunteers accommodation building seen here.
